Salt and Pepper Shakers, watercolor (4×6)
We spent the day in Hartford doing errands yesterday. I bought stuff that I need for the house like a new tea kettle and some pots and a toaster. We also bought an over-the-door shoe rack and Jeet was so proud of himself that he put it together with no problem. Afterwards we saw the new Harry Potter movie. I liked it in general but thought that it could have given some more explanations of background information. Today we are trying out a new church for the first time. I’m not sure how it will go.

Gerber daisy. Watercolor and colored pencil (5×7).
The wedding was on Saturday and it was amazing. We were blessed with wonderful weather and it wasn’t too hot either. The ceremony was short and sweet and everyone thought it was perfect. The venue was scenic and it had a lot of charm. The food was awesome and the flowers were gorgeous (more flower pictures and paintings to come). I had a gummy smile worth a million bucks—or so everyone tells me.
The next morning we all went to Cracker Barrel for brunch and then Jeet and I left for Williamstown, MA to see a beautiful Monet exhibit at The Clark. We didn’t see the whole museum but we definitiely want to come back for more. Then we went to The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA and stayed in a beautiful suite complete with clawfoot tub and champagne. The next day we went to the outlets in Lee, MA and drove home to Connecticut. It was a wonderful time.

Yesterday we all went to my brother-in-law’s family’s house for a 4th of July cookout. It was raining and chilly outside but it was still fun—even though I didn’t know most of the people there. We got to watch the parade before it started raining and Jeet and I just stayed inside to eat. It felt like a Saturday rather than a Wednesday though and now my whole week is messed up. Friday is the rehearsal dinner and Saturday is the wedding. I am really excited about it and a little nervous.
This pen and ink with watercolor wash was done from a photo I took while driving the Blueridge Parkway in Virginia last October. It was done in a spiral bound watercolor sketchbook which is why the scan came out with distortion on the left margin.
