Elizabeth Park

My grandfather celebrated his 80th birthday last week. When I was in Hartford over the weekend I made him this card. Jeet and I have gone to Elizabeth Park a few times last semester and I have always wanted to draw this bridge and pond scene. It turned out pretty well considering that I didn’t make a pencil sketch underneath and I did this very quickly. A big African lady was standing over my shoulder for some time watching me draw. She thought it was so amazing and she showered compliments on me. I have never come across anyone who was so vocal about their praise and it actually felt kind of good.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I didn’t have any of my work scanned and I couldn’t even use my father’s scanner for some time because he is rearranging his office. Also, I went to Milwaukee over for the Fourth of July (it was fun) so I wasn’t around. I finally bit the bullet and got a new scanner, the Epson 4490 Photo. I like it so far but I haven’t gotten a chance to play around with all the cool features yet. I scanned this drawing using someone else’s scanner and it looks really small on the thumbnail, but you can click on it to see more detail.

This is awesome – more so considering how quickly you came up with it. GREAT!
