serious attempt
I bought a little tin of Neocolor II’s a few months ago, back when I was still in school. I had been so busy that I didn’t really get a chance to properly try them out. Last week I grabbed these bananas and painted them using my new toy. I really like how they handle and I think it actually looks very similar to watercolor. I colored them with first and then went over it with a wet brush to blend the colors. I added the dots in by taking pigment directly from the crayon with a wet brush. I think that I will use these in the future when I want the look of watercolor but with less hassle. Hopefully next time I will paint something a little more interesting than this.

Oooh—this is really great! Love the dots on the bananas, and you got the yellow JUST right!
Actually, I think this is super! The simplicity in your compositions is really appealing.
They look so edible that it makes you want to break into “Come, Mr. Tally Mon, tally me banana…..” :-). Great job with such a simple subject!
Carolyn, I like what you’ve done with your neocolors. I, too, had a tin from art school ( a few years older than yours ;D) and have picked it up several times recently. They’re fun, aren’t they?
