cheer me up

Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.

I was really tired when I came home from work last night and I really just felt like moping around the house, but on a whim I decided I should do some sketching. So I decided to draw these flowers that Jeet gave me. I used an 01 micron pen that was on its last leg and my Tombow markers. It was fun to just sit and draw and it kind of made me feel better about things. I have so much work to do right now that I can never do everything that I would like to do. I hate that feeling when you know you have to put something on the back burner and you can’t decide what to put there. I think I would go crazy if I didn’t take some time to draw a little bit.

OH HOW PRETTY!! I too turn to sketching to feel better … somehow, the slowing down and focusing on detail seems to help bring things into perspective! Ilove this on colored paper!

As always, great job on the flowers – very realistic representation of the astromerias.

Time pressure starts to subside when we shift to the heart to find quality of mood and ease. It’s our unmanaged emotions that turn time into an opponent and make life a rat race. Managing time with the heart is the ultimate time management tool. ~ Doc Childre

Lin, thank you for the compliment. Actually, I drew this on white paper; the yellow is just the marker I used for the background.
