Thoughts on sketching Ruggles
I have been trying to draw Ruggles more these days. He is devoted to Jeet and I because we take care of him every day. He sleeps in my room and follows us around the house. I have been finding that the more I draw him, the easier it becomes. Ruggles tends to stick to the same variety of positions, constantly shifting from one to another. When I draw him, I usually fill up a sheet of paper with all the little poses. By the time I finish one, he is on to another. Now that I have drawn him so many times, sometimes I can finish my drawing after he moves to another position, because I have such a clear mental image of him in my mind.

Oh, the work you’ve done to show the texture of his fur (I’m thinking ‘hair’) is just so wonderful and sensitive. Lovely!
The top drawing of Ruggles is especially wonderful!
Lovely sketches – I especially like the top one, it’s just perfect!
