blue glass study

I was inspired by the collection theme and decided to get some practice with watercolor at the same time. I searched all over the house for pieces of blue glass that would make nice subjects and I am fairly happy with the results. I painted this on a watercolor greeting card—someone is going to get a pretty picture in the mail.

Oh, and I just figured out how to approve my comments! Thank you everyone who left me one.

Lovely watercolor sketch! I love the many shades of blue and the way you rendered the transparent quality of the glass.

This is lovely. Glass is so difficult to do but you really got it here.

Why don’t you make a file of your pictures and then you can do many notecards. and when you send them , you still have the original or at least a copy for the archives.

I like the various shades of blue you used here along with the varying degrees of transparency. The reflections on the surfaces are great…wonderful job:>
